Another try with our container garden

Good morning everyone!!!

I wanted to update our garden situation for those of you who are following our journey though container gardening. We did plant the seedlings that you had followed from their start, but circumstances being what they were, those poor seedlings had a tough go of it...and then they died. We planted them outside on Easter Sunday, and the next day, the girls and I left to be with my dad. On Tuesday night, the low reached 41...so between the fact that these poor seedlings got no love and the fact that it got so cold right after they were planted, they really just didn't have much of a chance. We ended up with 1 sickly looking zucchini plant that we saved, and 3 small vines of green beans. So, we started all over again! We bought small plants at Lowe's and stuck those in the containers last weekend.

Here's what we have:

Zucchini and Jalapeno Pepper

Strawberry

Scraggly Zucchini

Green Bell Peppers and 3 Green Bean Vines

Cucumber (that probably won't make it...its stem was broken during a downpour) and Mystery Plant (we lost the tag...)

Yellow Crookneck Squash

Our "Upsy-Downsy" Tomato planter, with Grape Tomatoes growing on the top and Better Boy Tomatoes growing out of the bottom

I will post pictures throughout the growing season and let you know how these plants are faring. We have already harvested 2 beans and 6 small strawberries, so the fun part is definitely beginning!

Hope that everyone has a great week!!!

All my love,
